Upstream

Upstream, also known as exploration and production (E&P), involves finding and extracting petroleum crude oil and natural gas from underground and underwater fields. Midstream

Midstream involves the transportation, storage and marketing of crude oil and natural gas before it is refined and processed into fuels.
